Let’s see some of the most important records of the PGA TOUR:

1. The player who has won the PGA Tour more times

Sam Snead held this record with 82 victories until 2019, when Tiger Woods managed to match him. The American golfer did so 54 years after Snead won his last tournament, in 1965.

2. The oldest Player towin a PGA Tour

Sam Snead has another outstanding record: the oldest player to win on the PGA Tour. He did it when he was 52 years and 8 months old. He was nicknamed ‘SlamminSammy’ because of the power of his punches and his perfect technique.

3. Record of maximum number of victories in a single season

This record was set by Byron Nelson in 1945 with 18 victories. In addition, he finished second in seven others and finished the season with an average of 68.34 strokes per round, only surpassed by Tiger Woods in 2000, when he averaged 68.17. 1945 was also one of the most famous years in the history of the PGA Tour, not only because of that small number of victories, but because that number was included in a winning streak in 11 consecutive tournaments.

4. More holes in one

Without a doubt, one of the mos tdifficult golf records to break. Two of the greatest players, Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus, have scored three. However, both Robert Allenby and Hal Sutton have hit ten holes in one, in PGA Tour tournaments.

In fact, it is so difficult that no player has succeeded in modern times. Before the term Grand Slam was introduced to golf, Bobby Jones won all four championships in 1930. Tiger Woods was the closest, when he won all four between 2000 and 2001.
